In which a hearty band of intrepid Wittenberg students (and their trusty chaperones, a couple of sisters who grew up in the Delta) venture forth on a journey of good will—and good times—into the heart of the Mississippi Delta.

Our man Moses and Dick Dyk, a long-time volunteer at Cary Christian
Center who makes the trip all the way from South Dakota every year to spend several months
in Cary and help out, joined efforts today to get the soil ready for planting
the community garden on the Center's grounds.
There's probably 60 years difference in their ages — and a fairly noticeable difference in their raking styles — but I found it very moving, watching them work the soil together, preparing it for future growth.
