Exhibit A: The Mississippi Delta.* The towns indicated here in blue are just some of those on our agenda for the week.
*Which, unlike most river deltas, is NOT at the mouth of the Mississippi River. (So New Orleans is not in the Mississippi Delta, got that?) (And, no, I'm not at all sensitive about this and all the times I've had to correct people who think they know what they're talking about!)
In which a hearty band of intrepid Wittenberg students (and their trusty chaperones, a couple of sisters who grew up in the Delta) venture forth on a journey of good will—and good times—into the heart of the Mississippi Delta.

So where are we going, again?
We're heading to Cary, Mississippi, a tiny little town on the famed Blues Highway (Hwy 61), situated between the big city of Rolling Fork (population about 2,500) and the intriguingly named Onward, Mississippi. (Onward is famous for the fact that Theodore Roosevelt's famous bear hunt was held there in 1902.) According to our friends at Wikipedia, as of the 2000 census, there were 427 people living in Cary. It'll be interesting to see how many of them we get to meet. . .
